Jessica Lynn Foster
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Jessica spent her childhood outside, surrounded by trees, rivers, mountains, and the ocean. Her upbringing in this region influences her work deeply and, even in abstraction, nature is the driving force behind everything she creates.
Though she has a background in clay and mixed media, her current work consists mostly of blind contour drawings and gouache paintings of plants and microscopic bacteria. She has recently begun weaving her paintings and drawings together to create new compositions.
Foster received an AA in Elementary Education from Seattle Central Community College and a BA in Art Education from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX and is an impassioned teacher of art to youth of all ages.
