Betsy Denny
Betsy Denny captures the individual spirit of her creatures and other living things with the use of her distinct abstract shapes. Her modern style appears blended with a trace of artwork of the Inuit to create compositions that are authentically her own. Along with her playful use of color, the exaggerated depictions of actual forms help to bring out the character in each one. Betsy’s masterful usage of curvilinear shapes helps to explain the depth and complexity that unfolds throughout her painting process.
Betsy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Costume Construction, and
returned to college later to complete her Master of Science in Nursing. She lives in the Austin area with her supportive husband and 3 incredible daughters. She currently serves on the board of the local non-profit Creative Arts Society.
