Tour Stop #66

Jason Webb

Jason Webb was born and raised in Round Rock, TX. He completed a BFA at Jacksonville University in 2008; a computer animation major and studio arts minor. After graduation, Jason moved back to Austin, TX to focus his artistic practice exclusively on representational acrylic paintings of detritus and urban blight. For the past decade, he’s been creating paintings of Austin’s residential bulk trash for an ongoing series titled ‘Discard Piles’.

In addition to exhibiting extensively throughout central Texas, from 2009 to present, Jason has been an annual participant in Big Medium's studio tours. He frequently donates original artwork and prints to annual fundraising events benefiting local arts institutions and arts education. He’s a three-time Hunting Art Prize finalist, and winner of the 2012 Eye's Got it! competition which awarded a solo exhibition at grayDUCK gallery in 2013. Jason also had a solo show at McMurtrey Gallery in Houston, TX and artwork in group shows at Storefront Ten Eyck in Brooklyn, NY; Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Fort Wayne, IN; Davis Gallery in Austin, TX; and Georgetown Art Center, Georgetown, TX.
