John Mercado

About the Artist

Austin, TX native and currently residing in Northern California, John has been creating art professionally for over 20 years. The son of Arturo Mercado, acclaimed Western and Texas Hill Country landscape artist, who had a vast career of over 50 years. My greatest influences in my career are Arturo Mercado, Amado M. Pena and Lance Letscher. All of whom all I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with.

John is also an accomplished picture framer. He started at El Taller Gallery in Austin, TX; Los Mercados Gallery and Framing; New York City at C.L.V. Art Services (Chelsea) and Fine Art Services, Austin, TX.

John has participated in major juried art festivals across the country. His work has also been represented in galleries in New York City; New Haven, CT; Louisiana, Sarasota, FL; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; Galveston, TX and Austin, TX.
