Steph Ivelisse

Steph Ivelisse is an artist and calligrapher based in Austin. She was born and raised in Miami, but spent her summers with her family in Dominican Republic. One of her earliest memories is drawing and painting with her uncle, Amable Sterling, who is an established artist in DR. Creating has always been an enormous part of her identity.

After moving to Texas and feeling dissatisfied with teaching, Steph started practicing calligraphy as a hobby and slowly became captivated by it. After 3 weeks, she decided to open a business. Ivelisse Designs was created in honor of her late mother and the middle name they shared— as well as a way for Steph to live more creatively. Growing in the wedding industry helped her see the lack of diversity and originality in the field. In 2020, she began to focus her creative energy towards other forms of art such as mural painting, line art and resin. Much of her work aims to celebrate and empower women, so she draws the women in her life and names them after the quality she admires the most in them. Steph's main goal is to create meaningful pieces for individuals who value authenticity and uniqueness.
