
Saul Jerome San Juan
Saul Jerome E. San Juan is an artist working with acrylic, cyanotype, oil, printmaking, and watercolor.
Born in the Philippines, San Juan moved to the USA at age fourteen, studying art and music as an undergraduate at Loyola in Chicago before coming to Austin in 2007 to complete a graduate professional degree in architecture at the University of Texas.
Inspired by his experience volunteering as an artist at the Dell Children’s Art of Giving and the Austin Police Department Summer Youth Leadership Program, San Juan became a high school art teacher in 2020. He teaches introductory art and upper-level painting at Stephen F. Austin High School.
San Juan participated in The Austin Contemporary’s Crit Group 2020 program and was artist-in-residence at Big Medium’s Line Residency at the The Line Hotel Austin in summer 2021.
Found in private and corporate collections around the world, San Juan’s art has been exhibited at The Georgetown Art Center, The Neill-Cochran House Museum, Big Medium, Austin City Hall, Austin Bergstrom International Airport, The Austin Contemporary, Northern-Southern Gallery, Vault Stone Shop, GrayDuck Gallery, The Julia C. Butridge Gallery, and Bill Arning Exhibitions.
