Saira Holland

I am an artist working just outside Austin, Texas in Cedar Creek. I studied fine art oil painting and illustration at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Mighigan but my current passions lie in creating metaphysical paintings in acrylic. As a child of artist parents, I grew up surrounded by creativity. Pouring through art books, reading about artists and visiting art museums were a big part of my childhood. As a result, I am inspired by a huge variety of artists, styles and techniques. I am heavily influenced by cubism and surrealism as well as ancient art (Egyptian, Greek and ancient arts of the Americas in particular) but I also like to tie in my love of the graphic arts, including art deco and art nouveau as well as children’s book illustration, folk and tattoo art. Now as a mother of two highly imaginative kids, I work hard to make time for their creative endeavors as well as my own.
