Tour Stop #384

Audrey Jahanian

Having lived in Austin for over a decade, I use my skills as an artist and educator to teach workshops, organize events, and make art. In my several years of practice, I have continuously explored botany and nature through different mediums. I am constantly inspired by moss formations on rock, celestial patterns, flora, and the like. My love for the outdoors and the desire to recreate intimate moments, keeps me invested in my work. I blend curiosity of nature with abstraction, simplifying the chaos that is everything, into something pure. Something that always intrigues me are the patterns that emerge, movement will become repetitive marks on the page, colors transform when they layer on top of each other, a mimic of erosion and the past. With each piece, I strive to use sustainable methods to minimize my carbon footprint, further paying homage to this remarkable planet we call home.
