Thomas Cook

Thomas Cook is an oil painter based in Austin TX. Born in Baltimore MD, he studied painting at Savannah College of Art and Design. After through-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2010, he spent time in Salt Lake City UT, and landed in Austin in 2015. Thomas’ work draws heavily on the landscapes and surroundings he has lived in throughout his life. Referencing both natural and urban images, he builds stories of his past and his memories, and creates observations of the city around him. Thomas has been showing in Austin studio tours and galleries for the past five years, paints in Plein Air, holds a studio, and is a curator for local artwork.
