Cristina White-Jones

I am a contemporary abstract mixed media artist, born and raised in the Austin area. My work is highly textured, colorful, and full of movement. I consider my work experimental and emotional, I am influenced and inspired by everything around me. Nature, color, textures and the physical pain that I endure on a day-to-day basis all play a significant role in my work. I work with several different types of media, and love to experiment with layering and laying down paint and various materials; always pushing the limits to see what new things I can do with it, often using unconventional materials that most would consider "trash" and then repurposing it into something both beautiful and interesting. I truly feel the texture in my work represents all the bumps and bruises along the way, and everything that I've had to overcome to get to where I am today.

My current body of work explores all of the emotions experienced on a daily basis. Combined with the organic elements of nature, color, and texture inherent to my earlier pieces.
