Isn’t life lovely when you look at it, just right, or crooked, or without your eyes at all?
My art is what’s going on in and outside of my head. How I see the world and what I’m doing in it. Through figurative abstract expressionism, I utilize vibrant colors and subjects that range from austere and contemplative to whimsical and curious. I try to capture moments and gestures that live beyond the edge of the paper, letting the viewer find their own story in how I’ve interpreted the world.
I fell in love with the immediacy and unique visual depth of one-of-a-kind oil monotypes in university. They provided a balance to the precision of studying graphic design. There is a serendipity to the process, the moment when I have to turn over control to the press, and let the universe finish what I’ve created.
Having recently moved back to the US, I’m excited to be a part of the vibrancy of Austin. Finding new inspiration in the place and people.
