Tour Stop #208

Michael Clark

Michael is a painter living and working in Austin, Texas. Art has part of his life in some form, whether it was building custom furniture or drafting custom home designs as an engineer. His introduction to visual arts was when his mom bought him a set of Grumbacher oil pastels when he was 12 and taking a few painting lessons from a family friend. He still has those pastels, along with a whole fishing tackle box of art supplies from childhood. After spending most of his adult professional life as an engineer, and raising a family he started to feel the pull to make art a larger part of his life. In 2015 he decided to take the plunge into an art career and has never looked back.

Mike is a believer in constant and never ending improvement, he is a constant experimenter and likes to try different techniques and styles. Mike loves the process as much as the final product and thinks the most satisfying part of being a painter is stepping back from a canvas and seeing his vision come to life.
