Julie Pelaez combines her conceptual Advertising background with mixed media to create abstract works centered around personal growth and empowerment. She has participated in group shows at Women & Their Work Gallery, Georgetown Art Center, Femme Abstract, Austin Studio Tour, Art Space 111, Art Design Consultants Gallery, Las Laguna Gallery, Voss Gallery, “I Like Your Work” Podcast, and Solo Exhibitions at Art for the People Gallery and The Dougherty Arts Center. Highlights include a Kendra Scott mural design, Honorable Mentions in the Envision Arts International "Prism" show, curation in the Saatchi Art Fall 2020 Catalog, and features in Austin Monthly, Austin Chronicle, Almost Real Things Magazine, Art Resin You Tube Channel, Glasstire, Twist Out Cancer Blog, and an interview & live demo on the CBS “We Are Austin” Morning Show. In addition to private and corporate commissions and wallpaper design, her practice includes print lines carried by Four Hands Art Studio, Wexel Art, Perigold, and HomeGoods. Julie has also served 2 years as an artist with the non-profit Brushes with Cancer art therapy program. She received her BFA from The University of Delaware in 2000. Julie passionately soaks up life and squeezes out color from her Austin home studio.
