Hali Mechur

Hali is a metalsmith and jewelry fabricator from Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Her work draws inspiration from the ocean and beaches surrounding her island home. She uses precious metals, semi-precious gemstones and utilizes items such as sand and seaweed to texture her work, pressing them into the metal to create unique relief patterns.

After earning a BA in Fashion Merchandising from Marist College she pursued a career in the fashion and retail industry, both as a boutique manager and visual merchandiser. Wanting to expand her creative skillset, she took her first metalsmithing class at Metalwerx in Waltham, MA in 2017 and fell in love with the craft. Today, she is able to blend the hands-on skills of metalsmithing with her 20 years of experience in visual displays in her own studio space as a member of the Thornton Road Studios Community in Austin, TX.
