Savannalore

Savannalore is an abstract painter and illustrator based in South Austin. In addition to her own practice, she creates content online to help others rekindle their creative spark and make art — even when making art seems daunting.

Her work is rooted in one imaginary place — Lava Lamp Coffee. When coffeeshops across Austin shut down in 2020, Savannalore invented her own coffeeshop — one she could visit every day from the comfort (or discomfort) of her own mind space. From that point forward, every illustration, doodle, sketch, and painting she created has contributed one more piece to the story. Despite the extreme differences between her painting and illustration styles, everything she puts into the world is now connected by the place she dreamt up during a dark era.

Golds, teals and earthy terracottas battle heavy blacks in Savannalore’s current work. But when she isn’t painting or drawing, you can find her in a corner somewhere with a pen, her journal, a book, and a cup of good coffee.
